Absolutely stunning hike from the Susten Pass along the old Susten Trail down the Gadmen Valley to Gadmen.
First, you enjoy the wide view over the valley and the Stein Glacier from the pass, then a nice change from high alpine landscape to the moorland (Nature Reserve) with its many waterfalls, and finally meadows and forest below. The trail runs parallel to the pass road, but separated from it by a long low elevation, so you don’t hear the traffic.
This tour can also be shortened by starting at the Steingletscher bus stop (also parking) or end at one of several stops along the pass road. One must check the bus schedule carefully though, as the bus only goes twice a day in each direction over the pass road.
(This hike can also be combined with a round trip to the GlacierTrail, which can be reached from the restaurant in Steingletscher.)
