This walk along the South side of Klöntaler Lake is a classic one and very popular as a Sunday outing as there are lots of places along the lake for picnics and campfires in the meadows or on the beach.
Even though it is an easy walk, it is worth a trip up into the valley to see the beautiful lake with the signature mountains which rise almost 1000m straight up from the South side of the lake.
The trail is a nice variety of pleasant woods with highlights of sections along the cliffs and views of waterfalls. At the West end of the lake where the stream enters the lake is a protected nature reserve / bird sanctuary which has to be circled around before reaching Plätz at the head of the lake. Here is a restaurant that also serves as a turnaround point for the bus, so the walk can also end here.
Along the trail are views up and down the lake, but as you are walking along the cliff walls, you don't see much of the mountains; that is why we continued on up the valley for another 1/2 hour to a higher elevation so we could enjoy the entire scene of "lake nestled in the mountains".
Along the North side of the lake is no trail but it is certainly possible to walk back along that side to complete a tour of the lake, but it is all along the road, and so depending on the traffic might not be such a pleasant walk.
