This easy flat hike goes through 2 protected peatlands to reach Mauensee and finishes at Sursee. The peatlands are real paradises for birds, with a breeding place for the rare lapwing (Wauwilermoos). Along the way storks, kites, egrets, ducks, wild geese, herons, among others, can also be spotted. Finally, the nice Mauensee, privately owned, is also a protected area with a castle on a small island. Since the lake is private, bathing and grilling are forbidden. To finish, a little detour to the old town of Sursee can be added to the tour.
